Preparation is Key!
We do our homework first!
We search for a complete & truthful telling of events!
- We develop an overall strategy for the interview, to include the purpose and specific objectives. Are we fact seeking? Are we developing a potential source? Are we seeking an alibi?
- We don't hesitate to initiate contact with witnesses or solicit cooperation from reluctant witnesses.
- We choose the ideal interview setting taking into account privacy and proximity.
- We possess the ability to quickly build a rapport with individuals from all walks of life. By doing so, we develop a safe environment for the witness to feel comfortable sharing their knowledge of events.
- We are trained in interview and interrogation techniques to include translating behavioral characteristics, recognizing clues in non-verbal communication, evaluating truthfulness and in assessing credibility.
- We utilize our skills to help identify areas that need further probing—concealed thoughts, feelings, opinions, and omissions. This enables our investigators to elicit more information and better compare and contrast it against any former statements and physical evidence—all of which lead to more informed decisions.
- Most importantly, we take the information we obtain via detailed notes and quality recordings and compile the information into a court-admissible product.
